Motion and Emotion Workshop

When someone with the stature of Rebecca Penneys asks me to quack and oink in rhythm, I do it.  After all, this pianist and pedagogue must have a good reason.  And she does.  Based on years of study and exploration, Ms. Penneys has devised clever tools for developing learning skills away from the piano.  As part of her workshop, Motion and Emotion, she gave participants experiences in breathing, movement, awareness, eye patters, and reaction times.  All of her examples were easily adaptable to students of all ages, and they were fun as well.  As both an Alexander teacher and a piano teacher, I am certain to apply her learning games.
